The Flux Bindings Any Good?

26 September - European Day of Languages \u200b\u200b

A news item of interest to the Erasmus students who are learning a new language.

The Council of Europe (the headquarters in Strasbourg, not to be confused with the Council of the European Union), at the 776esimo Council of Ministers decided to establish a "European Day of Languages \u200b\u200b " to be celebrated September 26 each year. The Committee of Ministers has recommended that the Day is celebrated in different member states on a flexible and tailored to the priorities of different countries, with the intention to continue the activities undertaken in 2001, European Year of Languages, which have often seen positive examples of partnership and networking among different institutions.

- There are between 6000 and 7000 languages \u200b\u200bspoken in the world of 6 billion people in 189 independent states.
- There are about 225 indigenous languages \u200b\u200bin Europe, nearly 3% of the global total.
- Most languages \u200b\u200bare spoken on earth in Asia, India, Africa and South America.
- Many Europeans believe that most of those posts only one language, but in fact at least half the world's population is bilingual or multilingual, speaking two or more languages.
